Growing up it was always my dream to go into broadcasting. God had another direction for my path but many years later He has allowed me the opportunity to do something with that dream. So over a year ago I started recording a couple podcasts and I have fallen in love with it. It would be easy for me to tell you that I have a long way to go but it doesn't mean I can't enjoy doing it while learning along the way. I am currently hosting three different shows. Each are featured here. If you enjoy them please like, share and rate them. I also welcome any suggestions on show topics and people you know who would make great guests. My journey to His dream
My church is four weeks into a series called Time to Dream. Pastor Ray Hardee All my life I have struggled with finding MY dreams. This post is about my search for that. So back in High School I had a dream to go into sports broadcasting but God redirected that dream into a call into Full Time Ministry. During that time God never took that desire away from me. I struggled with it but while in Michigan God opened a door to get another major in broadcasting at Spring Arbor University. I then choose to allow homesickness for the south and fear to lead my family away from there. Bad choice#1 Over the next twelve years I served in ministry and had many hills and valleys looking for His path. I interacted with some amazing people along the way and learned so many lessons. We finally ended up in Ohio and while there I had a hidden struggle with my inner demons. Demons of doubt, selfishness and inner unhappiness with myself. I allowed all that to completely take me over and I destroyed my life, ministry and family. Even worst bad choice#2 The next period of my life was a continual Groundhog day of me making bad decisions and receiving God's grace. During that time I decided to finally pursue that dream of broadcasting. I finished school in nine months but the timing wasn't right for me to intern and work my way up the chain. I made a commitment to help put Jordan thru college and around that same time Crystal Edwards came into my life. But that desire never left. Two years ago God gave me the idea of helping to tell other peoples stories through our church. I thought a podcast would be an awesome way to do that. My life pursuit for broadcasting was always about me but now through the avenues of Mazi and Ember it's all about telling other peoples stories. I love asking questions, starting dialogues and getting out of the way. My son Jordan Edwards and I also started a sports podcast to feature his scouting knowledge for football so that he could better develop his communication skills for later down his career journey. He actually thinks he's doing this for his dad. Got to love him! What I am trying to say is that I think I have finally found God's will for HIS desire and HIS path and not my own. It's taken my whole life to figure it out and some good counseling along the way to show me I am my own worst enemy when I allow my own selfishness to distract me from God's leading. So when any of you get a chance make a journey to my webpage www.rogcasts.com and take a listen to any of the three and remember once you let go God will turn your dreams into His dreams which are always better that our own. .
Educating in a New World
I had the great opportunity to sit down and have an awesome conversation with First Grade Teacher Daniel Noles about what life is like teaching virtually from home. He shared some of the challenges and roadblocks and how this may impact our children for years to come. Hope you enjoy it!
You're all caught up!
